@AnitaMac - fingers crossed for you
My D had a very similar experience last weekend with Julliard as @NYDreammom’s D. Only about 13/50 total were called back for the next round at 2:30. Mostly MFA as well, older students. Some of which were auditioning for the 2nd time at Julliard. Still glad that she had the experience though! No regrets.
@Jazzycats and @NYDreammom, was either of your Ds asked to sing at their Juilliard audition? My D has hers this weekend in Chicago and is wondering if the song is only asked for during a “second look” or call back.
@AustinMomof4 My D was not asked to sing, just did her two monologues.
Thank you for the info. So many variables in this crazy process. Last big audition push this week for my D and then I guess its on to more waiting. Good luck to your D.
My D auditioned at Mason Gross on Jan. 27th and after leaving the room was called back in to videotape her monologue. Also, just was accepted to MMC for BFA in Acting. We have NO idea where this road will lead yet. 7 more auditions in the next few weeks and then we wait…
Congratulations to your D for MMC, @tlm333!
Stupid question here if anyone has an answer. Does anyone know at Chicago is there a central location in the lobby of the host hotels that will have the room numbers listed for the colleges?
@collegeadmiss I have heard that the Palmer House will have a list at the desk
@tlm333 congratulations on MMC! It’s great to have an acceptance!
@AustinMomof4 - My D was also not asked to sing at her Julliard audition. Just did her two monologues as well!
@tlm333 Congratulations! You must have been there last week. Was her acceptance for MT? At Pace today.
Any good news out there?! It’s warming up!
Last year at Palmer House, the Concierge Desk had a list of audition room locations. It is next to the elevators (not the check-in counter area.)
We stopped in at the Hyatt Regency this morning and there was an electronic board that said where the Minnesota Guthrie auditions were taking place.
?
We come to the Hyatt Wednesday evening for my son’s audition with Juilliard Thursday morning. Maybe he needs to wonder around and do some walk ins? I’m actually just kidding–he has 10 applications out with 1 acceptance, 3 failed prescreens, 2 auditions under his belt and 3 more to go. It’s not as many as most of you are doing, but I think we are going to just keep keeping on! It is WAY more stressful and competitive than either of us imagined!
Anyone have any info or feedback about Roosevelt’s acting program. We sat in on an info session today.
yes we were at MMC last Saturday, Jan. 26th and her acceptance was BFA for Acting.
@pegski - seriously, if you’re already there he might look at doing some walk-ins. I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve read here of people who did a walk in for fun and really liked the program, usually a program they hadn’t considered or heard of. It really does happen! And you have very little to lose, it’s not like you have to jump through any hoops (unlike the rest of this process!)
