Have to share this excitement! We just received my S’s Evansville merit award offer in the mail and was totally surprised he got a FULL RIDE! This certainly throws a kink into the decision making process.

My S is having a great day today! He just got his acceptance to Northeastern with a sizable scholarship. Still waiting on BU, NYU, and SUNY.

Thanks @NYAndOne @NYDreammom. The full ride does complicate matters considerably. I guess it’s a good problem to have. S was really set on Fordham,his #1 choice; living in Lincoln Center and while he did get a nice sized scholarship from them, it’s no full ride.

@collegeadmiss I hear you, we were also so set on NYC but the DePaul acceptance and substantial scholarship feels so right, my D thanked me for pointing her in that direction. We figure NYC will still be there in 4 years. Still waiting on one big school but looks like we’ll be taking a NYC detour through Chicago first.

@collegeadmiss - all the class of 2022 were agreeing that it’s MUCH easier this year.

Does anyone know if the Huffman/Macy daughter was auditioning for acting or MT? My guess is she wanted UCLA because that school requires very high scores to audition and because the dad had said that he wasn’t sure she should leave LA - or even go to college. I think she’s been in film.
@MomofJ5 both parents are dramatic actors so I would be money it’s acting. I agree about UCLA, but Huffman went to NYU and they also weight academics highly there. The BA at USC also requires high academics. So most likely any or all three of those schools were the concern. The crazy thing is, I bet any of those programs would have taken their daughter just for the prestige of having such A-list parents involved! So foolish of them to feel they needed to cheat.
I made my D show me her email inbox tonight and there was nothing there from Point Park, looked at the Spam folder too. No word yet from Pace FTVC either. Pass the tea-leaves, please. Does anyone know how Emerson notifies? Email, phone or snail? Supposedly that could be this Friday.
