BFA Acting Class of 2023: preparation, prescreens, auditions, questions and support

I have a small tip regarding Pace FTVC…they will call your kid’s cell phone, not the house. Make sure they check their missed calls. It will likely come from a random cell phone number. And also make sure they check their voicemail messages.

thanks @MTmom2017 & @Gapyearguru - Does anyone get accepted at Pace in March without a phone call? Or do they phone call the acceptances, mail rejections to the definite no’s, and mail alternate wait list letters to the alternates in March?

Thanks @marg928 - will they leave message if the kid doesn’t answer? My D is in tech week rehearsals all week.

Our child got a BW BFA Acting acceptance today!! Big smiles…finally

@SoCalPops I do remember them leaving a message. I believe I told you I remember distinctly because we were away at a wedding when she noticed the voicemail. They didn’t leave a message that she was accepted, the director just asked that she call him back.

Congratulations @actinghopeful and YAY @16or32bars !!! That’s wonderful news!!!

Thanks @marg928 - I remember you telling me that now. Hard to keep track of everything!

D got accepted to Point Park today! (and denied from U Arts yesterday). Waiting on what their financial merit offer will be now. Finances will be an important part of this decision. And waiting on our final reach school decisions in the next few weeks.

COngratulations @SoCalPops!

Great news @SoCalPops!!!

@SoCalPops Congrats on Point Park!

So my S saw on one of the FB groups that Pace was significantly understaffed and has not made all the phone call. Not everyone who gets accepted will be getting a phone call. Apparently some people will just be receiving an acceptance package in the mail.

My D got her phone call just now from Pace FTVC! Now that it’s official, I can say that a couple weeks ago, I had posted that my D received a personal email informing her that she will be offered a spot in their program even though official acceptance letters won’t go out for another few weeks. The email was from the head of the Pace FTVC program. He wanted to let her know that he knew at her audition that she would make an amazing impact in their program and he wanted to tell her then and there. He would love for her to come study with him and their program before she starts hearing back from other schools. This boosted my D’s confidence!

Here’s what I was able to find out…Pace letters have gone out and everyone should be receiving them today or tomorrow. Each department head makes their yes phone calls, but are not able to call everyone all at once. So I can only speak for FTVC. He is not finished with yes phone calls. He can only make a few calls a day this week due to his schedule. He does try to call all his yes students, unless they are international, or if their applications are not complete, he is not allowed to call those students (so make sure your applications are complete.) Hope this helps.

Also, my D got a no from DePaul. She felt good about her callback audition with them, but it wasn’t meant to be and she really wants to be in NYC or at least close to NYC.

@FamLawTX Wow! Do you know if that applies for all of their BFA programs? (BFA MT, BFA Acting, and BFA FTVC? And do you know when the letters are being mailed? Thanks!

@Dramama3 Not sure if it is all programs, I know it applies at least to the FCTV program. My S saw info on Kick Ball Change the World FB group.

So many great acceptances today. Congrats, @love2share, @SoCalPops, @actinghopeful, @16or32bars !!!

My D just got the call from Pace FCTV. She is very excited to be offered a spot but still needs to make some decisions.

@tim333 Yay! Congrats on Pace FTVC!

@love2share thank you and congratulations to you and your D too!!!

@lovetoshare congratulations!!!
