I feel like I haven’t gotten a good feel for the BFA Acting program. There seems to be an awesome relationship with this school and the surrounding professional theatre’s. How does this school prepare actors? know it is a small school but how big is each acting class typically?
Really can you just tell me about the program?
I don’t hqve tons of info but I will tell you what I know. There is a new director of the school of Theatre. He is British. Worked for schools and theaters in Great Britain. Was also director of undergrad acting at USC. Acting majors can audition for all musicals and operas as well as senior showcase. Recent grads have leading roles in several national tours. The curriculum is on the school website if you want to see the specific classes that are required. There are main stage, smaller stage and student run productions each semester. There is also an improv troupe. They have an ocuLA trip during spring break for those who are interested. They recently did Grapes of Wrath in conjunction with City Rep and have a great relationship with professional theaters in the area. There is a summer Shakespeare in England study abroad class available.
