I am entering my Senior year in High School and I know that college theater auditions are in my near future. It is absolutely my #1 dream/goal to get into either the BFA Acting or Musical Theater program at Florida State University. I was wondering if it is possible to audition for both programs in the same year in the case that you would get into one and not the other, or if you were able to audition for the BFA programs again in the January/February of your Freshman year should you not make it the first time? I've been a part of a high school internship at a professional theater for 4 years now so that has definitely molded me and given me incredible amounts of experience, education, and mentoring. I'm strong in the singing and acting realms of Musical Theater, although I'm not the most incredible/natural born dancer. I do learn quickly, though. I am now back into taking ballet and jazz technique classes to help me prepare for auditions. I was also curious as to how to make the best song choices for your audition. Do the "judges" like someone less if they are hearing a song that is sung many times throughout the course of auditions? Does originality in picking the songs help you stand out from competition? Any tips, insight to the audition process, advice would be GREATLY appreciated!
