Okay, whats 'better' (on the grounds of quality of learning, alumni help, how others view your degree) a Bachelor's degree from USC's School of Cinematic Arts or an MFA in Production?

Any thoughts?

there are two undergraduate degrees offered by usc cinema: bfa (writing) and ba (everything else–critical studies, production, animation, etc.).

the mfa is a graduate degree.

If you plan to go on and teach at the college level, a USC MFA is quite valuable. If, however, you are looking to get a job in the film or television business, it is arguable that one degree is better than the other–both are exceptional and will introduce you to a wide range of internships, industry bigwigs, and potential entry level jobs in the entertainment industry.

There is value to starting into your career sooner rather than later (youth is a big commodity, as is drive and ambition), and the MFA does not allow you to start higher on the Hollywood ladder of production jobs. So… Good luck!
