<p>I know I eventually want to do something in film as my career (independent/art though, not Hollywood). I've read in a lot of places that a BFA in film doesn't mean much, while many working filmmakers/artists have MFAs. Obviously this is all very new and foreign to me and I was hoping someone who knew a bit more could enlighten me. Thanks!!</p>
<p>an MFA, as by the name, is an ADVANCED degree in art/film
a BFA is a basic degree. A BFA can increase your chances of getting an MFA (as opposed to a BA) but will never be an advanced degree</p>
