<p>Before Martin, Cornell's last provost left to become the President of the University of Chicago.</p>
<p>That's not too shabby of a track record.</p>
<p>So whose our new provost..?</p>
<p>Time will tell. It will be interesting to see who the interim provost will be. I suspect it will be David Harris, current deputy provost and a sociologist from Northwestern, whom I have nothing but respect for.</p>
<p>For incoming students, the provost is actually much more important in shaping your day to day life on the hill than the President. Biddy, for instance, came up with the summer reading project idea.</p>
<p>^ yeah about the summer reading....biddy liked the pickup. that alone should be used as a judge of her character.</p>
<p>good, maybe the new provost will choose better summer reading books</p>
