I have an interview with PwC next Monday. This will be my very first interview with a major corporation as I have never had a major internship before.

I'm applying as an entry-level assurance associate position.
My questions are:

1) How many people will be interviewing me?
2) How deep does the interviewer go regarding FASB's? Any FASB that I need to master in order to not look like an idiot?
3) Environment: Pressured or Relaxed? I'm sure this all depends on the interviewer but generally speaking, will it be a very business professional-like or be casual relaxed conversation?
4) Any technical questions? (i.e. questions on specific accounts and methods - Equity method, LIFO Reserves, Depreciation methods, Statement of Cash Flow, etc.)
5) What percentage of interviewees pass onto 2nd round interview?

One person interviewing you.

Never mentioned.

Fairly Relaxed, really only as relaxed as you make it in my mind. If you're good at conversations and get to know the interviewer, you can make it more relaxed. It's up to you.

None. The most you'll need to know is probably why accounting. Which isn't even technical, but could be I suppose, lol.

No idea. It probably depends on school and there needs. Just do your best, forget about everyone else, and how many get accepted. You can only control you. Worry about nothing else.

From my experience, a lot of companies require you to apply online as well as through your career office. It's possible that it's on their website. I wouldn't worry too much about it, from my experience the person who interviews you has little if any of your information that you gave to them through their corporate website.

If it's not on the website, simply ask who ever you interview with. I'm sure it's not a big deal an by asking it only makes you look more interested.

They do not contact you via phone if you did not make the 2nd round. They usually send you an email. Today was the first day of second rounds. I believe they have one more second round day on Friday of next week.

um.. so did you make it past first round? what did you interview for?

i interviewed for SPA at pwc, Control assurance and audit at deloitte, and audit at KPMG. i got second round interviews for audit at pwc (they wanted me to do audit instead), CA at deloitte, and audit at KPMG. i failed KPMG, failed deloitte, and won pwc.

now i can be an audit intern at pwc, but i have the option to switch to spa if i want, and i'm not sure what i want to do yet...

anyway, if you've got questions, feel free to ask.

response times can vary from 3 weeks (my friend at grant thornton was told 2 weeks and wasn't told until 3 weeks -__-) to just an hour -- my friend at ernst and young was told that he was accepted as he walked out of the door-- and as for me, i was told about rejections 1.5 weeks (deloitte) and 2.5 weeks (kpmg). pwc took 20 hours to tell me.

I had interviews with PWC,Deloitte, and Grant Thornton. I got an offer from Deloitte an hour after I got home from my interview. IF they really want you they will call you the same day, however I heard stories of where they call someone a couple days to weeks later.
