Big 4 accounting?

<p>You do not get a 5k sign-on bonus. You can, depending on firm and city - for example TX (houston and dallas specifically) is well known for paying good sign on bonuses. But the likely hood of getting 5k sign-on right now is slim.</p>

<li><p>Is the job stressful? How is it stress/not stressful?</p></li>
<li><p>Is there alot of camraderie among co-workers?</p></li>
<li><p>Can anyone shed light on the education (higher ed) practice at the various firms? I'm interested in education consulting. </p></li>

<p>the hours are tough during crunch season. a lot of my friends who are doing accounting and auditing at the big 4 are in it for the exit opportunities. Less hours and better pay after you get your CPA and move on to a smaller firm.</p>
