I just recently returned from a meet that I went to in Morgantown, WV. I thought that the town and the surrounding area was really cool. I have decided that I like bigger schools that have cool natural surroundings, ones that may be considered to be in the middle of nowhere like penn state. I was wondering if anyone knew of any other schools that may be like these, thanks. Also it isnt a real big deal how big the school is or where it is located, however I live in Ohio if that makes a difference.

I’m a senior this year, so this information could be very helpful.

hello? is anyone there

UW Madison-------------

Appalachian State University in Boone NC.

I just got back from the game in Happy Valley today, and I dont understand how you could consider a few hills, a ton of farms, corn, cows, and horses ‘cool’. What is cool about that?

Cornell/Ithaca College area. Very cool. Ithaca is gorges.

Sewanee certainly has its share of wide-open natural beauty, but it’s not exactly a large university.

That combination will be hard to find, but good luck.

I assume you like large colleges in small-mid sized college towns. There are many such universities.

Cornell University
Indiana University-Bloomington
University of California-Davis
University of California-Santa Barbara
University of California-Santa Cruz
University of Colorado-Boulder
University of Florida
University of Georgia
University of Iowa
University of Michigan-Ann Arbor
University of New Hampshire
University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill
University of Vermont
University of Virginia
University of Wisconson-Madison
Virginia Tech

University of British Columbia. On pennisula surrounded by 2000 acre forest and ocean (with many beaches)…20 minutes to downtown. Ranked 34th in the world.

[Welcome to The University of British Columbia - UBC.ca](http://www.ubc.ca/)

" I dont understand how you could consider a few hills, a ton of farms, corn, cows, and horses ‘cool’. What is cool about that? "

Yeah, everybody knows hip URBAN schools are the best!! Nothing says “cool” like crime, homeless people, beggers, traffic jams, cockroaches, high rent, and stepping over dog crap on the way to class.

I know, I hate New York City too.

amon,
If you like big schools in gorgeous physical settings, then definitely look at U Colorado.

Also, while it’s not rural, U Washington in Seattle has great natural beauty in the surrouding area.

And if you just want sublime surroundings, then take a peek at UC Santa Barbara.

Michigan State University - E. Lansing

East Lansing is ‘cool’? That’s like me saying North Philly is cool.

I thought the OP prefers naturesque environment and that State has one of prettiest campuses (landscape wise) in Big Ten.

The campus, maybe, but the area? Not so much.

Yeah, I personally prefer tOSU - Columbus!!! :P
