Well, I've been thinking about this for awhile, and I need your help. I'm having a hard time in finding college campuses that I like, in terms of appearance. For example, I visited Millersville last week, and while it was nice, it seemed like it was spread out and separated. I hated how the town's streets split the campus up and made it part of the town. I didn't feel like I was at a college campus, I felt like I was simply taking a walk throughout Millersvile, and I hated that.

I'm looking for colleges whose campuses actually feel like campuses. Places where the city's main streets don't run right through. Campuses pretty much secluded from everything (with stuff to do nearby of course), and one that is not known as a commuter school. Here's the catch. Currently I'm pulling a 2.4-2.5 GPA with a 1030 M/V SAT score, so it can't be something like Clemson, Penn State, etc. Any recommendations, and ones that I have a good shot at getting into, would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: I'm mainly looking for schools in the northeast/east coast (PA which is my home state, MD, NJ, NY, OH, VA, NC, DE, etc.)

It's a party school, not particularly known for their academics (except in a couple fields, like dentistry or forensics). That could be either a positive or negative for you. Your stats would probably get you in though.

The partying doesn't bother me, but from what I've read, parts of the campus are actually pretty trashy, and the Morgantown area isn't the best.

Guys, I note that most of CC is geared to higher end academic schools - little or no mention of the Millersvilles, West Chesters and Lock Havens.

Similar to PokerProd, my daughter has grades which will preclue a Penn State UP, or higher end school. CLearer choices will be Millersville, Bloomsburg, etc.

Has anyone out there made tours of these schools and come to any solid impressions, pro or con? We’re gonna hit the road in a few weeks. My older son is at PSU-UP and I have not seen most of these state schools.
