Big Decision For me (need help)

My major is Computer Science.
Should I attend Cal State East Bay or go to community college to transfer to a UC?

-East Bay is not really known for Computer Science majors and I think I will slowly lose interest in my major if I’m not surrounded by people pursuing a similar field as me.

-I don’t want to go to Community College because it is not a guaranteed process, like in-terms of time, also transferring.

-Going to a UC will make me feel better about myself and I will learn more stuff around dedicated peers

Should I take the risk of costing more time and going to a CC or settle for less and just go to East Bay.

I am a very motivated student.

Any advice in helping me make this decision would help a lot.

I attended a CC in California and transferred to a CSU back in the day. Just be sure to get advising right from the start so you can ensure that you have the necessary credits to tranfer into a UC. Getting in will depend on good grades. It doesn’t have to take any longer than it would if you went straight into a four year Uni. Much will depend on you and how motivated you are.

You can also take a gap year and try again next year.

I saw your other thread. Try to avoid being a hit and run poster. If you repsond to suggestions, people can help give you better guidance.
