I got into an intensive 5 week dual-enrollment summer school at the local community college. It's free, and I'd be getting 3 classes out of the way before senior year.
As of right now, my GPA is about 3.6 UW & 3.88 W. I'm top 5%, but I am near the bottom of the top 5% and would really hate to graduate outside of it. The grades I get in the 3 classes will be calculated into my GPA (and my school weighs dual enrollment as a 6.0).

However, I also made it to Nationals in HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America). I made it last year as well and got 2nd place, this year I was looking forward to possibly placing 1st, or at least 2nd again. I worked hard to get there.

The college has told me I have to decide between the summer school & HOSA by Monday.
I think in my gut I know the summer school would be better for me, but I'm having a hard time accepting I won't be able to go to Nationals this year.

I guess what I'm looking for is reassurance that I'm doing the right thing by picking summer school over HOSA. Oh, and just out of curiosity, what do colleges even think of making it to nationals in an organization like HOSA?
