BIG dilemma.. Premed programs/science majors

Is stonybrook really that good? And I have been reading all of this being too "in debt" posts on another forum and it sounds really scary. To be honest, I've had being a pediatrician in mind for as along as I can remember but now the idea that has been implanted in my head is that I will be paying back loans for 16 years of my life, be completely poor, have no social or love life what so ever and start making good money after the age of 35. Does anyone have any comforting words or is this the harsh truth?

also lets say I do stick it out which schools are good for science majors and/or getting into med school. I live in ny by the way

You can be a nurse practitioner or a CRNA. They make good money w/o the schooling and debt.
