Alright so I'm a Junior in high school and I have good grades I guess...but honestly the honors classes that I'm taking are easier than regular classes at any good school. I'm number 3 (maybe # 2, not sure as of right now) in my class (maybe out of 250-300?) and I have a 4.7 gpa. BUT I have absolutely no extracurriculars, not even one :( Also, my ACT score was pretty sucky (27) and the SAT I just took on Saturday was terrible. I wanted to eventually become a Pediatrician but I feel like my crappy scores and lack of extracurriculars will totalllyyy ruin my chances. On top of that I'm poor. I have a single mother, absolutely no savings. Ahhhh, I'm kinda depressed, I have absolutely nooo clue where I even want to apply.

You have a very good GPA and class rank and your ACTs are not awful. You can go to a four year school certainly. For many universities (probably most) extracurriculars barely even considered. And as long as you do well in college you can go to med school and become a pediatrician. You don’t need USNWR top 50 schools to go to med school, and you seriously can get into many, many colleges with simply a very good GPA and an above average standardized test score. As for financial aid, that is harder to give advice on because it depends so much on individual circumstances. What is your state’s university system like?

^ mm O State, the biggest there is, haha. some people in my school got full rides there, and I’d go in a heart beat if that happened to me, although I dont even really want to go there haha. Financial aid is absolutely key in my case…I wanted to go to Case, btw ha
