I chose Harvard over Stanford.
Everything thinks I'm happy with my decision.
I should be, but instead I can't stop worrying.
Did I just make the biggest mistake of my life?

Oh please. Get a grip. People are dying all over the world. Ur pathetic!

I agree, stop worrying. I'm sure your nervous about going off to college and starting a new chapter in your life, but don't go overboard with this. Relax and enjoy Cambridge

No way! Harvard is amazing! My last two years here have been some of the best of my life, and I wouldn't trade it for anywhere else.
I know there is a lot of post-deciding anxiety (I had it too when I had to make a choice between some other great options), but once you get here, and start integrating yourself into the community, I'm sure you will find your place here too and learn to love it.

My son can't wait to go to Harvard. Relax and stop it!

If this is the biggest mistake of your life, then you lead an incredibly charmed life.

I put my money on you loving it at Harvard. Best of luck to you!

Well just remember that Biggie > 2Pac applies when comparing Harvard to Stanford.

Post-decision anxiety, heh. I'm in your position, justpeachy. I bet we'll forget about it once September rolls around.

It's typical - D1 went through buyer's remorse too, and was very happy from the start. H and S have a very different feel, but there's no way anyone could make a big mistake choosing either.

Only reasons why you should regret your decision:
1.) You hate having four distinct seasons.
2.) You hate big cities.
3.) You love football/sports.
4.) You prefer Stanford's core to Harvard's.
5.) You prefer Stanford's housing assignment procedure to Harvard's.
6.) You wanted to major in computer science or engineering. (From what I have heard, majoring in these fields at Harvard is much more tedious.)

good luck and just stop it- i had to conform to the first 2 posts lol. If you don't like it you can transfer.

i feel the exact same way as you do. except i chose penn over stanford instead of harvard so im probably feeling much more nervous. but i think (and hope) that we're both gonna love it wherever we go :)

haha whats ur problem :p stop rubbing it in other peoples faces!! :D

dont feel sad! i wish i could be going to harvard! that is the ultimate academic dream!

I totally understand your feeling. Last year my daughter is in your position. She chose Harvard over a few other top universities. It was a very hard decision. It was almost no way for her to make a such decision. She pushed the button in very last minutes with a feeling of lost because she had to turn down a few best colleges in the world. After almost a year at Harvard, she is NO regret the decision she made. She is falling in love with Harvard. She believed that she made the best decision in her life to attend Harvard.

Best wishes to your!

3.) You love football/sports.

I'm a NYer and all, but are you serious? The Celtics are favorites for the NBA finals, the Pats are perennial super bowl contenders, and the Red Sox are defending WS champs...

There are plenty of sports and athletes at H. More varsity sports are offered (43) at H than at any other u in America (including S). The Harvard-Yale football game is a highlight of the year. And H athletes are in it only for their love of the sport, not the scholarship money.

Good points all around, but coming from Columbus, OH (go bucks!), Harvard sports aren't very much fun from the spectator perspective. A couple of the home football games + Harvard-Yale are well attended. And there may be a basketball game or hockey game or two each year that gets enough students to make things really fun... but - for example - when Cornell plays Harvard at Harvard, there are far more Big Red fans than Crimson fans (Cornell is CRAZY about hockey, however, this may not be the most fair example).

And the Sox/Pats/Celtics are incredible to have around. But their success comes at a price - it's a huge pain to get tickets! But being around awesome teams is great... I've been able to go see some amazing games, as well as check out the Red Sox (second) championship parade.

justpeachy, When faced with the same choice as you last year, DD chose H (much to my surprise as since 8th grade she said that her dream school was Stanford). A year later, she is very happy at H and has not looked back.

Biggest mistake of your life? Give me a break.
