Jimmy Clausen, the top recruit for the class of 2007 and the recruit some say is the best QB from California since Elway committed today to Notre Dame. He picked the Irish over USC and pretty much everyone else. There are about 5 top players who have said they want to play where Clausen plays...great day to be Irish.

I will be out all day at the Blue and Gold game festivities (part of what makes Notre Dame Notre Dame if you know what I mean) but it is an amazing day to be Irish!

I agree with you kevdude, but anything is better than that terrible yellow. I do think that the green stands out a lot more though, but oh well.

hey what about Brady Quinn..? Sorry, I dont know much football news... but where after his senior season, where do people predict him in the NFL draft as of now?

Oh yes. And im proud to say (that if accepted) my years at ND will all be spent with such a good QB :D :D :D Hopefully hell be as fiiiine a Brady, hehe (havent seen any pictures of him yet)

I have to concur about the shirt for 2006 being a drastic improvement over 2005. At least this one can not be described in terms such as **** yellow by those whom I have overheard on campus...personally I was kinda partial to the kelly green. Maybe it will make a comeback. Nevertheless, this new shirt is not bad at all.

Amazing, I got censored for that word....four letters begins with a p (synonym for urine). Uh well, I guess I'll just have to go with the PC term and refer to the 2005 shirt as Golden in nature.

True but this is a pride issue. Ty thought of the "sea of green" and it will be a couple years until we realize that Ty can actually have a good idea and we can use it after he is gone.

See that is just truly ridiculous. Whatever happened to tradition?? It should be the same color, but different shirt, every year. I hate the switching. Pretty soon you'll have a sea of green, yellow, and navy. Oh that'll be lovely.

I'm a huge admirer of Coach Willingham. What he did with the program at Stanford was absolutely amazing, turning them from a Pac-10 cellar dweller into a nationally ranked team. All that, and he made sure the academic standards were kept to the highest. He continued this philosophy at Notre Dame(keeping the high academic standards), and even had a better first year than Charlie Weis. However, I guess his style of recruiting student athletes didn't set well with alumni. He was sacked, unfairly imo, the only ND coach ever to not get a standard amount of time to prove himself(whether that was because he was black is up to you). I love Charlie Weis, but I think his effectiveness is still up in the air(after all, Coach Ty started off even hotter than him). Although Weis was a great hiring and looks to hold a bright future, I still think the Willingham firing is a dark spot in the history of Notre Dame football.

Docmom...actually the students buy the shirt every year, it's not like they pick and choose their favorite from years past. tradition doesnt have to mean having the shirt the same color every year.
