Biggest HS Administration Fails: Your Stories!

Have you ever been punished in high school for something you didn't do? Had your grades or schedules screwed around with? Suffered needless emberassment at the hands of administrators? What's the biggest mistake YOUR school's administration has made in regards to its students (doesn't have to involve you personally)?
Mine came to light today when my report card came in the mail...not only did I not receive AP credit for two of my AP classes (thus lowering my weighted GPA) but they gave me my sister's grade in a class we both took...she got a C, I got an A! I'm spitting mad, but it isn't the first time something like this has happened at my school. A friend of mine sent her official transcript to a college only to discover the school had reported that she had zero credits, as if she had never taken a class there! Crazy!
So vent...what's the weirdest/craziest/stupidest thing your HS administration has ever done?

Detention for being 3 seconds late.

Nothing. Seriously.

Sometimes when I went into the office, they gave me a cupcake secretly.

^^ you too?!

Having guidance counselors that are too busy with hearings/meetings for delinquents to actually help you with anything. I’ve seen kids wait to talk to their GCs all day and still not get a few minutes in with them.

They always screwed with my grades. Never got them right on report cards which always got me in trouble at home. And my sister who will be a sophomore in September we just got a list of classes that we will be taking next year. My sis has global and ap euro but no math so she called to fix it and they gave her math and took away her English and so again she called and now has honors English instead of reg English. I think she gave up though haha

So this is kind of a getting in trouble thing
So, apparently last year (2010-2011), there was lots of “inappropriate” dancing, so my school’s like, WE MUST STOP THIS INJUSTICE. So for homecoming the next year (the one that just ended) what they did was every day on the announcements for the week leading up to homecoming, they talked about how anyone dancing inapprorpriately at homecoming would be kicked out and how there was no “front to back dancing”. They also made us sign these super strict contract and get parent signatures saying that if we were to go to homecoming we had to dance appropriately. So I’m like okay, my date and I get our signatures and everything, I figure that’s it, they’ll probably have some chaperones around the dance floor just because. But lo and behold, as we enter the student center, where the dance is held, there are two or three stools in the middle of the dance floor with administrators on them with flashlights, shining the light on anyone they thought was dancing inappropriately. We were given little arm bands as we entered and if we were caught dancing “inappropriately” once, it was cut off, and on the second time we got kicked out. So yeah…
So by the time prom came around, only 80 kids ended up going to it while another group of kids rented this place and had their own prom that a ton more people went to.

I now realize how irrelevant this post was to the original question, but whatever

@astroblue
Wow that’s ridiculous!! And I thought my school was moronic

One of my teachers didn’t enter a single grade for me for the entire year, though managed to inout grades for every other individual in all 5 of his classes. He also counted me absent for all 45 days I was away as a House Page, asking for a note when I got back and almost getting me kicked out of school for 45 consecutive unexcused absenes in his class.

A few weeks ago, there was a black out in our school. Our town has its own power supply and there was a fire, so for two hours we were without lights. Of course, my brilliant school continued on with classes. Between classes, there were basically riots in the hallway and our principal was shoved into a locker. The kid was suspended, but oh how wonderful karma was to that rude principal.

This French teacher literally gave everyone in her class 100s for the year.

No ****ing joke. There’s a reason why the kids with the highest GPA almost all take French. While the Spanish, Latin, and German kids have to work their asses off for low As and Bs. This is during junior year, too.

Soph year, my AP Human Geography teacher had us memorize physical geographic locations to prepare for the exam.

I was her first 5. Ever. I’m still the only one.

i don’t even know where to begin with my school. once i left my hat in my 3rd period class. 4th period just started and my teacher was late, so i decided to go and get it, which was only supposed to take about 2 minutes or less… i was so wrong…

i get my hat, but it took one hell of a lot just to get back to class because of the stupid security guards in my school. i took the quickest way back to class, but they blocked off that part of the hallway for the “hallway sweep” and i couldn’t get through (one of the security guards even cursed at me…). they told me that i had to go some complicated way back to class that involved going downstairs, going ALL THE WAY AROUND THE SCHOOL, and coming back upstairs. i do that, only for another security guard to tell me to go back the way i came or i would get detention for cutting class. you can’t even imagine how frustrated i was. i was saved when some of my friends came with a pass, so i could go back to class with them

honestly, the security guards at my school are completely worthless. most of them are so fat that they couldn’t even run after a snail, much less a student. fights happen all the time in my school, ant they show up 5 minutes later. all they do is yell at everyone to go to class… ■■■

There was a terrible snow storm, and we had school…

We were the only public school in the Greater Cincinnati area to be open.

@Crest1 that happened to me this year…stupid Bloomberg…everywhere else in NY had no school except for the city. i literally ICE SKATED to school…

and they cancelled school during regents week, when I WANTED them to keep school open so my brother would go to school and i would be free of him for a few hours. but they cancelled school and i had to deal with his annoying self the whole day

They always email my report card to my neighbor for some reason. It might be the mailman’s fault, though.

The counselors are NEVER there.

I used to miss half of 2nd period…the high school has a seperate freshman campus. In ninth grade, I took sophomore English at the big campus…and the bus never showed up/left early. -_-

important dinner hosted by local newspaper- principal was reading our lists of accomplishments, erroneously stated I was “president of Kiwanis club.”
the actual president of Kiwanis club, a middle aged man, shot me a dirty look, and my sister (president of KEY club) shot me another.

The administration at my school is extremely strict about senior pranks, so we rarely have any. However, one year a group of “good” students decided to do something fun and lighthearted: write the names of their favorite teachers and other various things in the bus parking lot before school. They were all suspended and then they had to wash all of it off.
