Binge watched tv shows

Now bingeing on “The Man in the High Castle”. Intriguing! Two thumbs up.

I started watching Making a Murderer a couple of days ago, and I’ve gotten through five episodes so far. It started slow, but wow! If I had a large block of time, I would just watch the rest of it all at once–totally engrossing. We also started The Man in the High Castle, but aren’t sure about it yet. Thought this season of Homeland was fantastic!

Ha! I wasn’t aware that there was a series of The Time In Between! I read that book four or five years ago; it was fun. I(t would definitely make a good TV serial. I’ll have to check that out.

I too binged on the Man in HIgh Castle but have been taking a break since the news to the obergerfurher about his son. I couldn’t get it out of my mind for days. And now my husband is too busy to watch.

I started bingeing on The Making of a Murderer yesterday. I got close to the end of episode 3, and had to take a break. The frustration! I’m going to have to start something else to leaven the mix. Maybe Mozart in the Jungle.

I’m looking forward to the restart of the broadcast shows I’m following–Madam Secretary, The Good Wife, all of Shondaland–even though I almost always watch them streaming. I just can’t take the commercials.

Mozart In The Jungle remains fun, if cliche-ridden, in its second season. There is more stunt casting: Gustavo Dudamel (the real-life version of Gael Garcia Bernal’s character), Emmanuel Ax, Lang Lang, and Joshua Bell. It’s great to have a female central character be really attractive with a body that’s much closer to normal than the Hollywood standard hyper-skinniness.

I’ve binge-watched a few shows over the past few months. Loved “Home Fires” and “Indian Summers” (almost quit on that one after the first episode and am so glad I stuck it out).

LOVED “Fargo” (actually enjoyed it more than Season 1) and “Mr. Robot.” Brilliant writing, acting, and cinematography in both.

I normally keep up with “Homeland” and “The Affair.” I thought this season of the former was very good and thought the latter ended in a complete train-wreck.

For fans of “The Americans” (among my favorites of all time), check out “Deutschland 83.” It’s fantastic. And if you like(d) “The Affair,” check out “Rectify.” So, so good! Both are on Sundance:

There aren’t many network shows I can stand, but my husband loves Tea Leoni, so we watch “Madame Secretary.” I enjoy it. We both really like “Limitless” too. DH was crazy about “Life on Mars” (the original), which he discovered a few months ago. Ended up watching much of it on YouTube.

Other shows I loved in what turned about to be a great year in scripted television:

“Better Call Saul” (even for someone who never watched “Breaking Bad”) and “Halt and Catch Fire.” If you liked “Mr. Robot” you might like “Halt” too.

For those who don’t have Amazon Prime and want to check out “Mozart in the Jungle,” Amazon will stream it for free this weekend!

And, I saw amazon prime would cost new members only $73 as a promotion related to the 73 golden globes, because Mozart in the Jungle won for best comedy.

I watched season 1 of Mozart last year, but decided to rewatch as “prep” for season 2. Went through all the episodes in the last 10 days and can’t wait for season 3. Hopefully, the Golden Globes recognition will make that a reality.

I’m nearly done with MITJ season 1 and enjoying it. It’s been a long time since I’ve watched a show so short…like 26m.

Coincidentally, I just started bingeing through MITJ earlier today, and dropped in to say that I find the 30 minute episode format disconcerting. I really wish it were longer. But I love it.

Billions starts on SHO tomorrow night.

^ I watched Billions on demand two days ago, for those who want a sneak peak.

Like it?

I’ve finished all of the available episodes of Mozart in the Jungle. I WANT MORE!!! Sigh. Have to find something else…

I agree, @Consolation. It was outstanding!

If you’ve never seen it before, I highly recommend “Slings & Arrows,” which is about 10 years old. It covers much of the same terrain, only instead of a symphony orchestra, it is set at the fictitious Burbage Shakespeare Company.

I waited years before I found it for a reasonable price on DVD, and it was well worth the wait. I think you can watch it streaming now:

Can anyone recommend a series that is available through Amazon Prime? I’ve watched the Good Wife and loved it, and a few episodes of Mozart in the Jungle - didn’t like that one.

I’ve watched and loved The Wire, Treme, and Transparent on Amazon Prime. (I never had cable so I am catching up!)

I bounce among several watching sites. Right now, I can’t seem to find what I watched via Prime, except “The State Within,” with Jason Isaacs, which I liked. (But I know I didn’t pay to watch, so maybe I saw it on another site.)

You can use the search (by the page numbers,) enter Prime, and it’ll bring up what others mentioned.
