Binge watched tv shows

^^ You’re not supposed to “like” Claire…

@katliamom, I don’t think there are many on that show that we are supposed to like

I’m only up to episode 47 but I’m rooting for Claire. Especially over Doug. I think Doug is the human manifestation of everything that is evil in Underwood’s mind. Or maybe he’s just Underwoid without the charm.

Netflix sent me a messsge that they’re now running Happy Valley season 2.

I started Borgen (Danish. I like so much of their TV series I ought to learn some of the language.) Borgen’s good so far, different, smart. And you know I love Dar Salim, who was in Dicte.

Not binging on it but “The Americans” started season 4 on FX March 16.

I have binge watched House of Cards, Outlander, White Collar, Downton Abbey, and Friday Night Lights. Loved them all. Recently binge watched Velvet on Netflix. It is in Spanish with subtitles, but so worth it. Going back and watching the whole thing again. Loved it!

Thanks for the Velvet recommendation; I’m always looking for new shows to binge on.

I’m currently watching season 2 of Happy Valley – British mystery/cop drama starring the fabulous Sarah Lancashire – very well written and acted, as good as season 1.

I’ve only watched the first episode of Happy Valley season 2, but agree it’s good.

OK, I had to come back and confess I am now officially hooked on “Billions.” Took me several episodes to get into the plot, but now that they’ve gotten away from all the ridiculous OTT sex scenes and are focusing on the chess match between the US Attorney (Paul Giamatti) and billionaire Bobby Axelrod (Damian Lewis), it’s pretty compelling and entertaining.

I still wish I could find a character or two I actually LIKE, but it’s really hit its stride, and the cast is terrific.

^ I kind of like Donnie.

Started a marathon of Mozart in the Jungle last night! Loving it!

Just finished Sons of Anarchy, wow…

I have trouble watching many of the “dark” shows that seem to be popular today - so, expecting some rolling of the eyes, I’ve loved binge watching Murdoch Mysteries and When Goes the Heart (yes I liked Little House on the Prairie in its time too). I’m usually smiling at the end and may have gained an interest in an historic subject.

@threeofthree, I like historical dramas too. I’ve watched three I really liked over the past year, but they’re all pretty dark. One is about the American Revolution (“TURN: Washington’s Spies” on AMC) and the other two are set around the U.S. Civil War, “Mercy Street” on PBS and “Underground” on WGN, which just started a couple of weeks ago.

Ooo, the new “TURN: Washington’s Spies” season starts April 25. We love Turn.
(One day after new Game of Thrones season. That’s my vice, not DH’s.)

@LucieTheLakie - I have watched Turn a few times although I did get away from it as I kind of had to be in the mood for it, but it was well done - thanks for putting it back on my radar.

I just saw a promo for Grantchester on PBS Sunday night.

For light-hearted fare, I have been thoroughly enjoying Schitt’s Creek. Also since I never watched them the first time around, Desperate Housewives and Ugly Betty were great finds for me.

Just finished watching Happy Valley season 2, it was the first show we began binge watching with season 1 a year or so ago. I really like it and love Sarah Lancashire. The difference between her character in Happy Valley and Last Tango in Halifax is quite interesting to see.

Just finished House of Cards. That show still delivers! Great season!
