Binghampton CCPA College

My D. applied as a Freshemen to the Harpur College (Psychology), but today she got an e-mail that they cannot admit her, but offering an Acceptance to the CCPA College. I was wondering if anyone has any feedback or heard about that College, good or bad reviews..
We are going to visit Binghampton anyway, but I'm just trying to get any additional information. Can you admited sudent take a Psychology classes, etc? Thank You!

Same thing with my S - (but Political Science) you can check out the CCPA website. Typically students can take coursework across colleges (in your D’s case Psychology) however she would be in a different college. It all depends on the students interest if this college would be a good fit. Hope this helps.

CCPA offers only one undergraduate major (Human Development) which is sort of a pre-social work type major. You’ll be taking some psych and sociology classes as a part of the curriculum. You will need to fulfill the General Education requirements so you’ll most likely end up taking classes in Harpur (this is the liberal arts college of the university). You have the option of attempting an Intra-University transfer or completing a dual-degree program if you (or your kids, I guess) still want to pursue psych or poli sci.

My daughter is currently a freshman at Bing. She originally applied to Harpur, but there was no space, so she accepted a seat in CCPA. After the first semester she transferred to Harpur with no issues…

Thank You All!
