Binghamton Admissions office is coming to my school -- post acceptance

My college counselor called me into her office on Friday to let me know that a Binghamton admissions officer is coming to meet me tomorrow. I find this to be incredibly weird as I have never heard of a college visiting schools after being accepted – they always visit in September through December to convince people to apply. What makes this even stranger is Binghamton didn’t come during that period this year.

Is this a normal practice for Binghamton? My counselor said she has never seen it happen before and no one else I asked has heard of it.

Out-of-state applicant accepted to Watson (I have not submitted my deposit either).

They may want to protect their yield. About 80% accepted choose to go to someplace else. This is not unusual by the way. It is similar to many mid sized public universities.
