Are Binghamton's science classes easier than Stony Brook's science classes, or are they equally as hard? Are the curves more generous or pretty much the same? I've heard that there is a lot of competition among Stony Brook science students, but is it the same at Binghamton? Or just a slight, insignificant difference? Also, how large are the science classes at Bing vs. Stony?

If you are still deciding, that’s not good because deposit was due yesterday.

I already submitted to Stony, but Bing is giving me another day to reconsider my options. I was always on and off for each school. That’s why I want as much feedback about the programs as I possibly get my hands on.

So at the last minute it is up to others to convince you to go to a school – Binghamton-- that you’ve never visited as you posted on another thread?

Let’s face it. Your going to Stony Brook because you visited it. At the end of the day, you’ll go with what you know first hand no matter what anybody here tells you about Binghamton.

I think SB it is a fine choice for science minded students who live in LI or NYC or who don’t mind a suitcase school.

Good luck at Stony Brook.

You made a great choice, Stony Brook is a Science school, whereas Binghamton is a Liberal Arts school. You will receive a far better quality education, with faculty members who are experts in their field. About the competition? It will be rough. Stony Brook has just admitted their best class ever, with the highest incoming grades of all SUNY schools, so you will be a tad bit depressed, but the end result will be magnificent, especially when compared to a Liberal Arts school. Make sure you interact with faculty members, try to get involved in pre-med related clubs; and try to conduct research in:

A)Medical school[We have a medical school, whose faculty doesn’t mind training undergrads, a great plus for SBU, vs other Liberal Arts schools.

A)Our hospital.

If you were into Business, or other liberal arts(even though we are catching up, just today Stony Brook’s music program was ranked the 24th best in the Nation, better than any SUNY school), Bing would’ve been a better choice. Since you are a Science guy, it would be an insult to not go with SBU.

Enjoy!

Q,

It’s going to be “rough?” He’ll be a “tad bit depressed?”

I think he’ll be just fine so long as he chooses some nice luggage for the weekends.

Compared to a Liberal Arts school, yes it will be tough and challenging, given our high academic standards and rigorous coursework. We have inventions and active research in the field, and towers dedicated to research in the Science field, so as you can imagine, we expect a lot from you as a student. Our rankings also speak for it self, compare it to Bing and you might understand why going with Bing is probably the dumbest choice on earth, when comparing the Sciences. Although if you wish to do Liberal Arts, Bing might be a better choice(even though SBU is catching up, our Music program just got ranked top 30).

Thank you Jim Simons for continuously investing in SBU. For those who don’t know, Jim Simons donated nearly $200 Million last year, along with out gracious donors! Go Seawolves!

Q,

Where does a student go if he get’s a “tad bit depressed” (your words) at SB?

Is there a place in the “towers” for him?

Or do you give his some luggage in a happy color and send him home for the weekend?
