I'm trying to figure out if I can get college credit for an AP course. My college's website says that if you get a 5, you get credit for N/BIOL 116, BIOL 117, BIOL 119. If you get a 3 or 4 you get credit for BIOL 1TR, N/BIOL 1TR. (All for non-majors, btw)

I got a 4, and I was wondering what "1TR" means. Those courses aren't listed on the gen ed requirement choices, but the ones with numbers (ex: 116) are listed. I think "N/" means it's a lab, but I don't get what "1TR" means.

Can anyone help me? =]

hmmm… i’ve never heard of that system. however, it may be like an intro type thing…

It would help to know your school.

At my school, there are a few classes that might do something similar. If you get a 5, you get credit for the class. If you get a 4, you get something different.

In the case of the 4, you get “elective credit” which means you get units toward the ~120 but cannot take an advanced class. You still have to take the normal sequence if you want to take an advanced class at a later point.

1TR usually means that the credit does not fulfill a specific course but you will get Bio credit (which may count towards general requirements or just electives).

Try asking on your colleges forum.
