Bio 1AL Labs

Why is it that Bio 1AL Lec has 600 spots but there are only about 300 seats in labs? Will they open more labs later? I really need to get into one, and my telebears isn't until friday...

bumpity bump

hmm… hopefully… mine’s friday too… 10:30 am! beat that! :)

And I thought my telebears appointment was bad :/

I’m guessing yours is 4/30 @ hmm… 3:30pm?

mine’s at 10am. i got a friend who doesn’t have it until monday.

yea…i think 5/4 is the last day. but no one’s starts on the weekend.

From the Bio 1AL Lab Coordinator:

The labs are not necessarily full at all the times shown on the
schedule of classes. There is an additional section at each time
that is not shown. We are using cascading enrollment for the lab
sections. This means that the first section fills up first and then
the second section fills. The times that you see full on the
schedule of classes may show full for the first section, but the
second section is still open. When you go to enroll on TeleBears, if
the second section still has space open, you will be able to select
that time. Currently, only three times are completely full (Wed
9-12, Wed 2-5, and Thurs 2-5).

The wait list for the first section also works on the second section
at the same time. It is possible all the labs will be full by the
time you can enroll. Add to the wait list, and choose the lab time
with the lowest wait list. If you choose a night lab or Friday 2-5,
that will increase your chance to be enrolled since they are the
least popular and have the most students drop. The wait lists are
processed automatically which means that they will be processed on
the weekend during Phases I & II and every night during the
adjustment period. If you want to increase your chance to be
enrolled, you should watch the lab enrollments carefully during
Phases I & II. If someone drops during the week, another student
could come along and enroll in the seat before the weekend processing
occurs.

ah i see. thanks, that’s really helpful.
