Bio 1B Problem

I'm an intended public health major so I need a B- in Bio 1B. I'm not getting a B- and will have to retake the class. I'm wondering if it's advisable to do it Fall 2009 or wait til Spring 2010. I hear it's easier in the fall but it also seems advantageous to take it with the same springtime professors. Also, is there any likelihood of getting into bio 1b during phase II? thanks

Are you a freshman or sophomore? You need to declare before you hit 80 units.
Bio 1B was full before the end of Phase I for Spring, I do not know about Fall. Have you considered summer?

i heard it was actually easier in the spring due to feldman teaching. i have to take with powers this upcoming semester. OP, i am also a public health major-how hard would you say it is to get an A in Bio 1b?

Yeah, I’d imagine that it’s easier in the spring. Feldman’s part was pretty chill and Huelsenbeck’s part was easy as well. I don’t know how Resh will be. I’ve heard that the professors were also worse in the fall so… I say choose wisely.

Feldman was not that easy…Got a B- on his exam…=(
Huelsenbeck on the other hand…lol I loved that guy. Not the greatest lecturer but at least he isn’t mean like Resh.

I’m currently a 2nd semester freshman. I can’t take it in the summer because I’m taking a lot of prereqs for public health at community college. My problem is the short time before I have to declare the major. It sucks because if I can’t get into public health, I’ll be screwed for other majors.

Waiting4College, Bio 1B is not that bad in comparison to the other lower division science courses. I’m not pre-med but I hear it’s one of the easiest lower div pre-med classes. The material is pretty much memorization with a hint of deductive logic…For example, you learn about how plants reproduce and their body parts, whatever. So, the professor asked us if you carve your name in a tree, where will your carving be in 10 years…since you know how the tree grows, you should be able to answer it. It’s not that bad. I think I just entered the class with the wrong mentality.

im scared. im scared antioch

oh cool thanks caldiva!

omg it is NOT easier in the fall. the ecology professor’s midterm … uhh people didnt do very well lol. like horribly bad. it’s easier in the summer, and then spring, and the fall.
