Bio G 1103 classes not working?

I tried to sign up for any section of the Bio G 1103 (Lab) classes, but they all say:

Error: You are unable to enroll in this class at this time. Available seats are reserved and you do not meet the reserve capacity requirements.

when I got to enroll.

Why is this happening?

Do I need to take this 1103 lab at the same time I'm taking Bio G 1101?

^it shouldn’t be doing that. 1103 is not a pre- or co-requisite for 1101.

but now that i think about it, last year we had to go to the office of undergraduate bio and sign up there for bio separately from the rest of the classes. not sure whats going on this yr, though

Mine worked. Is it possible that the specific time section you’re signing up for is full? There are only like 18 slots/lab, and I know I signed up at like 9:15 eastern this morning and there were only 2-3 spots left in mine, I believe.

Try different time slots.

That happened to me too, but after the first two times I found a class that worked.

Maybe they’re trying to reserve the spots (at least for now) for students who need to take the lab alongside the lecture. You should be able to fix this during orientation. You could always e-mail your college as well.

no has yet mentioned how last year they had too many students in lecture who wanted to take the lab, they had to create new lab sections on Saturday morning?
not saying this is what’s going on now, but since there was trouble with this last year it’s certainly possible it’s happening again.

There are lab sections on Saturday mornings. It seems likely that it will be made up of mostly non-A&S students since we got to enroll first and I don’t think many people will voluntarily sign up for that…

^actually I don’t get to enroll in classes yet. However, my pre-enrolled classes already have me in BIOG 1103. That is where the problem probably lies because other schools have already pre-enrolled their students in the classes.

Oh. I did notice preenrolled people when it said spots had already been filled, but I figured they’d have put you in a lab as well.

Who knows… certainly not I.

I did manage at the end to enroll in BioG 1103. I just kept trying all the sections and eventually found one that would let me enroll.
