How strong is the Gen. Bio program there? I was looking at all the other UC's and especially for UCI, they require a ton of Bio classes as pre-reqs that they don't even offer at my CC (or most CC's for that matter) and if I had to take them at UCI it would waste a ton of time and I really don't want to take an extra year. UCSB on the other hand I looked at on assist.org and I coulld very well finish in 4 years. What kind of GPA is usually competitive to get in there as a Bio major?

Above a 3.0. Finish all the pre reqs. Do TAG while applying and your in.

What if I can’t take all the bio classes they want within the next year? I need like Botany, Zoology, etc all this stuff that I didn’t realize I needed until recently. Can I still take those at UCSB or will it really lower my chances of going then? Or what if I take them during the summer?

Try to take them before, I signed TAG and had a 3.8 GPA but I was missing one bio class and got rejected.

you need to complete your major courses

i thought for bio majors you did not have to complete all of the major prereqs? did you somehow void your TAG cubman?

No UCSB has special conditions for TAG if u want to do bio. I finished TAG and got into UCSD with it, but UCSB requires pre reqs done also, at least a year of bio, gen chem. U can read it on their website.

i seee.ey btw for UCSD i was wondering if TAG guarantees you to the BIO major or just the school? im going to be applying there this fall but my gpa is kinda low 3.1…
