I'm studying the Barrons 2008 Bio SAT II for May 2nd and the chapter on plants is really difficult with a lot of stuff to remember... (All the hormones, vocab, etc)

My Q is... how often do the plant questions appear? Are there a lot? How are are they normally? Do I need to know most if not all the vocab?

My question exactly - I’ve been studying plants using the Barrons AP book (since we won’t get to it in my school) and there’s so much to remember, it’s ridiculous.

i have the barron’s 2009 and when I saw all of the hormones I needed to know there was a lot of info, and really my bio teacher only went over auxins in class

and also i took a practice tests from the sat 2 test study guide which the actual test in may 2002 and the first 5 questions all involved vocabulary on plants i did not know, but then I looked them up in my barron’s book and they were all there

My advice is to not get too bogged down by the details in Barrons. You really should be memorizing concepts more than specifics. Plant hormones rarely show up, and when they do, all you need to know are auxins. All of the other hormones mentioned are simply obscure terms that never show up.

thanks that really helps and what would you say about stuff on like the human systems and diseases showing up

What about scientists?

The test doesn’t really focus on scientists, but as for diseases, just know whether they are x-dependent for genetic disorders. Other diseases you either shouldn’t need to know about, or are common knowledge (such as diabetes). However, really study the human systems, it is definitely going to show up on the exam.
