<p>Im a jr hopefully going to medical school. Bcuz i made this decision in the last year or so I AP'ed out of bio 1A. </p>
<p>How difficult is bio 1A and 1AL (to get an A in) in the summer?</p>

<p>Getting an A in Bio 1AL is equally difficult despite whatever semester you take it. Meighan controls the course every term</p>
<p>Getting an A in Bio 1A is slightly easier in Fall than Spring. I have heard that people do not like the summer Bio 1A professors.</p>
<p>How hard is it to get an A in bio1A assuming 5 on the AP? And for 1AL, do I have to take it if I AP'd out of 1A?</p>
<p>I don't know about Bio specifically, but I had heard large chem courses like 3B were easier in the summer. Is this true?</p>
<p>Finally, as premed MUST I take bio1A even though I took many upper-div boi courses in my cal years (MCB100A, IB132, IB135, MCB130, etc)</p>
<p>And sorry for the bombardment of questions :)</p>
<p>It is still hard, remember a lot of Cal students took Biology AP and/or IB Biology HL in high school (both of which exempt Bio 1A-B).</p>
<p>Most/many medical schools want one year of general biology.</p>

<p>Im trying to get another publication out this summer, but didn't want to get bogged down in a stupid intro bio class where I wouldn't learn much...plus Im taking an EE course along with it. </p>
<p>Im reading the reviews on this Meighan guy and it looks horrible.</p>
<p>Some people love him, some people hate him; (ok more people hate him than like him).</p>
<p>Frankly, in my opinion he is pretty ok. He is very devoted to Bio 1A/L</p>
<p>Meighan's demanding, yes, there's no doubt about that. But in the end, he's a fair grader. Bio 1AL is not as impossible as most people make it out to be.</p>
<p>I actually liked Meighan, for the most part. He knows his stuff, and he runs 1al pretty well. Learned the most out of 1a lab more than anything.</p>
