i believe that biochem major only needs to take molecular bio, but if you want to go to med school, you'll need to take all those classes...tat's just to my knowledge...btw..wut's ur gpa...i'm a biochem major wit 3.7...applying to LA and berkeley..u?

fei, have u tried calling colleges, it takes hours. I tried doing research on my own by going on college websites to find info about each major, but still wondering if others have expirience with that major.

Fei, i tried that a bit. Most have no clue about anything regarding science. lol. kinda sad.

Best choice was to going website and looking up curiculum of each major. Most say Bio is a better choice b/c biochem might include molecular bio, but not anatomy and physiology.

again let me repeat. You do not need those classes to gain admissions to medical school. Why do you think there are nonscience majors at med school.

All you need is the basic mcat classes:
one year of bio, gen chem, orgo, and physics. that's all.

In that case you should major in biology. But still if i were you i would major in biochemistry. Since you're into pharm, majoring in biochemistry will complete the link between biological concept and orgo, which will really help you understand pharm.

oh no prob hnbui, thank for ur advice. There are several bio majors that do quite a bit of biochem, i'll guess i'll worry about picking the right one when i get there hopefully w. the help of some science advisors
