Biochemistry at UCB or UCLA

So guys I have a pretty big decision to make between UCLA and UCB. I was accepted into both for biochemistry (no regents scholarship). I don't exactly intend to go to pre-med. I want to go to Pharmacy. I'm concerned about much of a GPA killer school that UCB is and how much that would affect my chances of getting into a good pharm school.

Would UCB's prestige really make up for the low GPAs that are pervasive there? Would it be better to go to UCLA?

I'm really inclined to go to UCLA because i feel like the environment would be somewhere I would thrive and I am looking forward to have a change in environment from where i stay (bay area). My parents are pressuring me to go to UCB, however. UCLA also has a hospital so i'm sure that i can get plenty of hands on experience on top of a stellar undergraduate education, but in the end i feel like the UCLA undergrad degree doesn't have as much scope and respect compared to a UCB degree.

Im so torn between both schools is so difficult to decide.

Any feedback would be great. By the way, I am in the top 10 percent at my school.

I am a current student at UCLA also studying biochemistry. I got into uc Berkeley also but I’m so happy at UCLA and all the opportunities available here in Los Angeles (I’m from San Francisco). Does Berkeley have THAT much more prestige over UCLA? Not really. And when you’re comparing the quality of life at both schools UCLA can’t be beat. Plus our biochemistry program is one of the best in the nation

The graduate programs for Chemistry at Berkeley are much better; they have a College of Chemistry for Pete’s sake. However, for an undergraduate program, both will other equivalent educations.
