Whats the difference?

A lot of money depending on where you live! If you are a NY state resident, you pay the in state tuition price because CALS is a contract college (about $22,000 tuition) where as COE is not a contract college so all students pay tuition of $39,000.

My understanding is that the curriculum is essentialy the same and the last 2 years all of your classes are in COE any way. I think CALS does have a language requirement that COE does not. And AP credit policies may differ slightly.

You can search the threads on this topic–there are lots of previous threads that address this well and in greater detail.

hmm interesting. I’m not a NY resident tho so that wouldn’t help.
Also i’m sure that at CALS you would have a much harder time switching to another engineering major if you wanted to.

another question i have tho is with the subject tests requirements for both schools. CoE requires a math and science subject tests while CALS doesnt require any. I have an 800 in Math II but am pretty worried about my Bio test coming in October…Itd be great if i wouldnt have to submit it if i wanted to go to CALS for BioEng

Also, does Cornell participate in Score-Choice? i couldnt find this on their website…

facepalm i just found it, cornell doesnt use score choice…darn

If you wanted to change to another engineering major, you’d have to transfer to COE first.
