Is Bioethics a good course to take for pre-med program? It's certainly not required, but my friend, who had this course last fall, said that it's a good course. He even said, "What would you do if you get question about bioethics in medical school interview?" I frankly don't think they would ask such question in medical school interview... or would they?

I'm done with humanities after upcoming fall, so I wondered if this course would be good to take?

Most med schools do not ask any ethical questions on an interview because you simply do not have adequate knowledge or experience to answer those questions. A few do but not enough to warrant taking a class solely for that. Take it if you’re interested in the subject matter. You will probably have to take an ethics class at some point during your med school careers.

Interesting. Yes, I agree that I’ll have to take some sort of this class down the road in the medical school. I’m just having hard time accessing these journals though. They are rarely found through my library (I know we have hard copy but I’m not in school obviously now), and not really found for free. Blah :X

I don’t know if it’ll be useful in terms of interviews or anything, but I took a bioethics class last semester and it was definitely one of the best classes I’ve taken in my time at college. Some real interesting stuff.

That’s good. I read one journal article that I could find today, and it dealt with “letting someone die” vs “making someone die” to determine which, if possible, was more moral than another. It’s definitely interesting, and I don’t know if there is really any “right” or “wrong”? Again, I just read one :P
