Biological and Biomedical Sciences vs. Biology

Could someone please tell me the difference between "Biological and Biomedical Sciences" and "Biology" on the Common App?

Also, if I want to follow a pre-med track in college should I indicate "Pre-medicine" as my Academic Interest #1, even if the school does not have a "Pre-med" major, with Biology and Chemistry as Interests #2 and #3, or is it better just to list Biology and Chemistry?

Thanks! :)

To answer your first question, I believe (definitely not sure at all) that biology tends to be more liberal arts-y, more general, and overall less applied. Whereas biological science is going to have more groundings in science and research.

I may be totally wrong, but I am under the impression that this is the case.

I plan on doing pre-vet, but since the pre-professional stuff is just a program and not a major, I put it last. I put my actual major interests first.
