Biological Schools

Does anyone know of schools with excellent biology programs? It seems more popular for colleges to have pre-med or physical science departments.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

If you want a LAC, check out Carleton's biology program. Hard but comprehensive.

Schools like University of Pennsylvania, Harvard, Johns Hopkins, University of Michigan, Washington Univ, Duke, Emory, UC-Berkeley, and more have excellent biology programs. If you want LAC's then check out Amherst, Swarthmore, and Haverford.

I went to UNC-CH Zoology program and it was excellent.

Wisconsin-Madison................

Definitely check out Haverford if you're into LACs. Biology is one of their most popular majors and you'd have great research opportunities at such a small school. Plus, if you're looking for pre-med, you'll be hard pressed to find a school with a higher medical school acceptance rate than Haverford's at 99%, which is due to their great premed advisor, research opportunities for undergrads, and the rigor of the science curriculum there.
