biology and math vs accounting

Hi,

I'm in my third year and I feel like i'm still experimenting between these majors. I started out with a math major and felt that majoring in just math alone is disinteresting so I've decided to combine it with biology. My grades were mostly around B's. I'm just not sure if i'm cut out for it though. Recently, I want to major in accounting because of it's job prospect and I remembered liking it. Since starting accounting is similar to starting over, should I go through with this? Give me your input. what should i do?

You are right, accounting has pretty good job prospects, and it’s nice if you like it.

I know some people who did accounting, but they don’t really like their jobs even though they pay well.

Tell me something I dont know lol. I’m still on the fence. I’m not sure if I should go through with this new major or just finish up what I started.

How much more time and money would you have to invest if you went for the accounting degree? Look at that and see if it makes financial and personal sense to you to give up that time and money to go after the degree. You could also finish up your bachelor’s degrees, take master’s classes toward qualifying for a CPA test and go about it that way.

thanks. I live in new york city and I do plan to become a cpa. I currently have 85 credits. I will need about 14 more classes to obtain my ** in accounting. Obviously I will have more than 150 credits by then. Do you think this is smart? I might as well minor in biology or math. maybe math because it’s more relevant.

That sounds like a reasonable solution to me. Good luck on your journey to becoming a CPA!

I don’t know, I have this funny impression that everybody is flocking to accounting right now. I remember when I was an undergrad, everybody was flocking to computer science. Then the dotcom bubble burst…

But then again, I have a personal aversion to numbers as accountants see them.
