Biology and robotics

I am going into mechanical engineering and am thinking about doing a minor in electrical and computer engineering as I want to do something with robotics. However I am interested in potentially working with robots based on the biology of living creatures and I am curious of the best way to go about this. The university I want to go to has bio-engineering program however I don’t think I would be able to transfer into it. Should I try and do another minor in biology or should I just take a few biology classes.

Your degree is great for what you want to do. Just sprinkle in some bio courses or even one if that’s all you have time for. Cellular biology or general biology would be a great start. You might be surprised to find all the options graduate school in mechanical engineering will provide. My kid is in grad school in mechanical engineering (bio inspired mechanical engineering) and she was a physics major with one bio class (cellular).

I agree with @KunjiBoy. An ME degree is 100% suitable for your interests.

You don’t need to do a minor for everything you’re interested in. You can just take electives in the areas that interest you without formalizing it in the form of a minor.
