Biology at Tufts

How is the science at Tufts? And how does it compare to Michigan Honors program...which would you choose?

Michigan is excellent in the sciences, even better if you're in the honors program. You're more likely to have larger classes and the premeds are likely to be cut-throat but I'm sure the honors program would make the experience better outside of academics. Tufts has an LAC like feel if that's what you like while also offering a smaller but more intimate biology program. Visit the schools and see which fits better for you, you can't go wrong with either (and if money isn't an issue).

thanks! I'm pretty sure that I'm picking Tufts

yay! one down, 1200 to go lol

Are they really as hard as the guy on the other tread says? I have had AP Bio, Honors Chen and Honors Physics. I did well in all of them. Will I survive them as a Fresh. If I want to major in biology?

Someone told me that those tests were curved based on the median, so if you got a 93 itd be a B+, and an 83 was an 80. That really bothered me.

Bioloy 13 is difficult in that the exam have questions on them that are either:

based on one fact from one sentence in the textbook

make you apply some idea to a situation not described in the textbook

Biology 13 is definately a premed weeder class.

Bluirinka, only biology 14 does that.

oh thanks for clearing that up for me! :-D
