alleycat1,
I also applied to UPenn also, and I haven't heard anything from them either. Like you, I'm also getting nervous.

Is there anyway to track their status online, or has anyone find out their status somehow except for being offered admission?

joshdbiomajor,

thanks. good to know i'm not the only one. i did e-mail the admissions coordinator, who responded with a general e-mail saying that all apps will be reviewed and we will be contacted when so by the graduate program we specifically applied to. other than that, i also sent an email to check my status with the email the Neuro program specifically provides, and didn't hear anything back...which is probably a good sign they are still reviewing apps.

hopefully we'll hear something soon, i'm getting extremely anxious about this one. im not sure if my emails to them are considered "bad" to do....

Hey everyone,

Goodluck on the upcoming interviews. Got into the MD Anderson Cancer Biology program? Does anyone have any information regarding how good that program is??

PLease please let me know..

Thanks!

Has anyone heard from (or know interview dates for) UC San Diego or UC Santa Cruz?

The only reason I heard from UCSD was because I was missing an LOR. Which tells me, they're still reviewing? Possibly? At least I hope. :-)

Inteview date for BMS at UCSD is Feb. 23 weekend and March 7 weekend. I heard from them a couple of days before. Good Luck.

Does anyone know if Stanford Biosciences has a waitlist. Also have they started sending out reject letters or emails?

TLR or anyone else,

Do you know if UCSD has separate admissions committees for each focus area within BMS or just one big committee?

Also, did anyone apply to UC Davis-microbiology? If so, have you heard from them? Does anyone know their interview dates?

Kern,

I have no idea how they make decisions. I got an e mail from a professor from Molecular Cell Biology. I applied to Chemical and Structural Biology program under BMS.

Kern,

I applied to UC Davis micro, but I haven't heard anything from them yet. The girl I spoke with said they didn't begin reviewing apps until mid-Jan, so maybe (hopefully) they're still reviewing.

Hi everyone. I applied to PhD programs in Neuroscience and was wondering if anyone heard from these schools?
Applied: Tulane, LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, WashU, Johns Hopkins, Caltech, Duke, Baylor College of Medicine, and Emory.
Accepted: Tulane, LSUHSC
Interviews: Duke, Emory, BCM
Rejected: WashU
No news from: Caltech, Johns Hopkins ???

Hey Jellyfish (and others)

In my experience, the schools understand how this all works and have no issues with rearranging things as long as they have not booked airfare. I was invited for an interview at Carnegie Mellon and picked the first weekend, they told me one of the faculty I wanted to speak with would not be available then so I switched to the second weekend. A week later I was invited for another interview (by UCHSC) and the only way I could go was if I switched my CMU invite back to Feb 14-16 and visited UCHSC the 28-2nd. I contacted CMU and they said it was perfectly fine. Later that afternoon they booked my airfare, but still, it was not a problem.

Off topic, I just found this forum today (obviously) but it is helping a lot. FWIW here is my info:

Applied: Duke (DevBio), UNC-Chapel Hill (BBSP), UCHSC (CSD), UC-Boulder (MCB), CMU (Bio), and Pitt (MCB)
Interviews: Duke, UNC, UCHSC, UC-Boulder, CMU
Accepted: Pitt

Hey New_User

Firstly, Congrats :)

I have been invited to Pitt for an intervew on the 3/7 weekend. Did you have to interview? If so, how was it?

Thanks for the input and goodluck on the rest of the interviews :)

Hey Immuno,

First of all, Thanks.:) Pitt has invited me to come visit, but the e-mail said specifically "the Admissions Committee was unanimous in its decision to recommend that you be offered a place in our program starting in Fall this year." So it sounds more like a visit then interview. Unfortunately I already have interviews during all 3 of Pitt's weekends, but if they decide to hold one on 3/28 I will probably go to that. Let me know how yours goes and good luck to you too!

Greetings all,

I'm an international applicant to some rather late programs (their deadlines were in mid January): the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Johns Hopkins Biology department (which is administered through the Arts and Science faculty, not the Medical School).

3 questions:
A) Has anyone heard anything from any of these schools?
B) Is it common for schools to screen international applicants later than domestic ones?
C) I can't find when their interview schedule is on their websites because if I don't, I need to make other plans for the year. Any idea on how to manage this?

I'm interviewing at Albert Einstein on Monday. They probably have other interview days scheduled though.

Thanks Cornelli. Can I ask when you submitted your app and whether you are a domestic or international student?

has anyone heard from this program? especially international students...

I heard they are reviewing intl' applicants this week, probably make decisions next week.

I'm a domestic applicant and I submitted December 7th.
