Biology in the Northeast

So, I'm making this post for a friend.

She's interested in Biology. She wants to get out of Vermont but stay in the NE area or slightly beyond that. She's looking for schools that are comparable in size to UVM (give or take a few thousand students). She has absolutely different criteria for a school than myself, so I am completely lost in suggestions.

Friend is in the top 5% of class, but projecting around 1850-1900 on SAT (based on PSAT)

Any help?

Any ideas at all?

Hmm. Boston University, perhaps? It’s at least the right ballpark size-wise and has very good life sciences, and her SAT would be in the middle-50% range. It’s a very urban area, though. I don’t mean that as a euphemism for “dangerous”, I mean that it’s in a major city and doesn’t have much of a campus, and if she’s from Vermont she’s probably not used to urban.

The run of the mill college biology departments are decent. For undergraduate departments in the northeast with a bit of pizzaz (great facilities, internships, etc.) look at these…
