When applying for jobs or possibly phd, how much difference will the 2 options matter? I am just thinking of getting into non-thesis and change if i want to pursue more research oriented career path.

This really depends on what you intend to do. If you wish to pursue a career in research, you should probably do the thesis option. I am not a fan of research, personally, and have no intention to pursue a research career so for my first masters degree, I chose to do a more practical final project. I’m happy with my decision. You have to do what is right for you and what will be relevant to your own personal career goals.

Would it be worth it to complete a thesis-based M.S. if I ultimately want to work in biotech/pharmaceuticals?
