Where should I apply to without going into major debt. I want to major in Biology and then go to medical school. What schools has a fast pace program?
College Budget?
Stats like UW GPA, Test scores, EC’s?
Home State?
Small/Medium/Large schools?
Urban/Suburban/Rural?
Private/Public?
What is your backup plan if Medical school does not happen? 60% of “pre-med” undergrads never get to the point of even applying to Medical school.
A local state school is often the least expensive. If you have high stats, then some schools with good merit aid could come into play. If you have terrific stats and a low EFC with nothing odd going on with parents/jobs, etc, then you can also try for the very selective schools that meet need.
Check your stats at schools that interest you (ideally you want to be in the Top 25% for decent med school results), then run the NPC on their financial page to get working ideas.
