I am confused as to what i should major.
My dream is to become a doctor, but with all the schooling and chances of not even making into med. school and then all the challenges....i've pretty much put it aside.
I'm really headed towards biology, but i don't know what i could do in life with a degree in biology, im planning on going as far as getting a masters after my bachelors...and also biology majors don't usually get paid well..
i'm also thinking about double majoring bio with chinese..jsut because im extremely interested in both areas...i was originally planning on business/international with chinese but i have absolutley no interest in business except teh money...

A bachelors in biology probably isn’t directly applicable to many careers. I found this article that describes the situation: [“Working Your Degree:” Biology - Sep. 15, 2000](<a href=“http://money.cnn.com/2000/09/15/career/q_degreebiology/]"Working”>"Working Your Degree:" Biology - Sep. 15, 2000)

I’ve always thought way too many people start on the medicine track for the wrong reasons: usually money and reputation (I’m not suggesting these are your reasons). A good doctor is selfless and derives true compensation by helping patients, not earning a big paycheck; likewise, medical researchers should be motivated by the thrill of science and discovery. If either of these two things aren’t appealing, you may end up unsatisfied with your career much later on.

That said, if being a doctor is your dream, why give it up at the first sight of an obstacle? You’ll be mediocre at whatever you pursue if you’re unwilling to fight for what you want.
