Biology SAT II POST-EXAM discussion!

haha what else is new. we'd pretty much all have 800s or 790s if that curve held true though

780 E. The curve was harsh? :-/ I had a feeling I did alright, but I probably missed about 4-6 with no omits.

haha yayy, thats the highest score i've heard so far. congrats :DD
i think you got a lot less wrong than 6 though to get that, good job

I got a 740 M....== Is this considered ok for a sophomore.. >>

Haha, thanks! I had no clue the curve was so harsh. Man, that sucks for all of us. Wasn't the May curve pretty bad as well? Yeah, I'm glad I took this sophmore year. :-/ Taking three in one day would be pretty bad.

lol sheesh u guys are sophs.. im a junior and pulled a 760 M but i really really wanted at least a 780
congratss to both, and yes 740 is good for sophomoreness haha

I got a 760 in E. I took it as a rising junior.

i got 780...was aiming for 800...but i am still HAPPY...

Arg. I now have to waste $25 dollars to retake it sniff
I'm going to memorize everything in my damn test book lol.
I haven't told my dad yet but he'll kill me and declare that my hopes for an Ivy League are over. sigh

Man, I took it as a rising sophomore but it doesn't matter squat because I'm graduating with the class of 2007. Eh.

Anybody with 780+ who took the M? ^^ Maybe the E was graded a little bit more easily than the M....? or maybe I'm just stupid.

threepointone, I know exactly how you feel TT_TT

The lowest exam score I got in Barron's and the 10 Real SAT IIs was a 790.
But man, a 750.....Wow....How did this happen!? lol
I guess I'm just stupid. I knew I should've taken it in October. Damn myself.

M is usually graded more harshly than E because (note: this is NOT my personal opinion, i've only heard it from word of mouth) "all the smart people take M because it's harder, so most of the people who take E wind up getting lower grades because they're less intelligent or prepared, and thus E has a more generous curve than M"

pls dont give me shyt for this guys lol i dont even know if i believe it, im just sharing what i heard. i know i personally didnt take E because i hate ecology and find it semi-difficult

^ Me too o_o I don't know squat about ecology..but I guess I didn't know that much more in Molecular lol.

lol the molecular didnt even have anything to do with molecularness haha. there was no photo/respiration reactions and nothing with macromolecules or properties of molecules/elements so i wouldnt even call it molecular. and i would think the wave length questions at the end would be more ecology related but hey, thats just me

750 E, its right on the benchmark of no retakes. So I'm wasting no more money.

freaking BS for me.... I left 2 blank and was sure I only got 3-4 wrong... and I ended up with a 700.... biggest BS ever....

umm yeah i did get a 800 for bio e. so did my two classmates who took bio m. but we're all internationals so i guess we are better prepared since our syllabus is different.

or maybe u guys are just smarter ;)

Hmm... I had time to look at both molecular and ecology, and I circled the answers to the questions I was sure of in both sections, and made my decision from there. I realized I knew more 'for sure' ones in the ecology section, only because of some of the weird ones that popped up in molecular that threw me off. So I did ecology. Plus I'd heard they had an easier curve, so how can you lose, really. Haha.

lol i was gonna do that, with the comparing both sections. but the thing is i actually really am bad at ecology cause that unit sort of got cut off by the end of the year so i didnt wanna risk it or waste time

i haven't gotten my score yet...but what would you guys predict for the following set-up:

3 wrong
1 blank
