Hi, this is a pretty obscure question, but here goes: dd is taking A level biology at her British school and is taking her SAT bio subject test in December. I am trying to figure out where the gaps are between the 2 syllabi. Does anyone know where her likely knowledge gaps are and which SAT bio test would be a better fit? Thanks, Londondad
This may be a question that may be too specific for this forum given the relativity few numbers of students here who are following the British curriculum. You/your daughter may be better served by asking her biology instructor for his/her advice based upon the topics on the test.

Personally, I took AP Biology in the states and I learned that there were several differences between the curricula. The biggest part was learning a lot more about plants (reproduction, types, makeup, processes, etc.) and I bought a SAT subject review book to polish up on these things…but like 2 days before the exam, so I ended up getting a 700
I’d say the Barron’s is pretty much the only acceptable study guide for this subject test (for someone who’s taken bio), at least in terms of practice tests. I also took a look at Kaplan and Princeton Review and they really, really sucked. As skieurope said, consult the teacher, but she should also take a look at all the subjects in the study book and brush up on any she doesn’t remember. The practice tests are also pretty useful.
Thanks. The British subject teachers in my kids’s schools don’t normally have the knowledge of the SATs and the College Board website is too vague. I will buy the Barron’s guide, though.
