Biology: UC Davis or UIUC?

<p>I am from China, and attended American school until high school. I have been accepted to both schools as a biology major, and have trouble deciding where to go. </p>

<p>Davis is $8,000 more expensive than University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign, is more competitive, and has more Asians (40% as opposed to 10% in UIUC). The scenery is better in Davis, and there are lots of places to go for the weekends (San Francisco, mountains, forests, Lake Tahoe), while Illinois is in the middle of nowhere (prairie, prairie, and more prairie). </p>

<p>I personally prefer Davis, and my family wants me to go to Davis, but my GPA might suffer because I heard Davis is more competitive (cut-throat!) than Illinois, and I am not sure of my academic skills, so I think I will fare better in Illinois, especially if the classes are graded on a bell-curve. So, which school should I attend? And if my opinion is wrong (Davis=lower GPA, etc), please correct me</p>

<p>UCDavis is known for biology, pre-med type. I don’t think UCD is hard, I’ve known people graduated from UCD with 3.8+ GPA. It’s not Berkeley.</p>

<p>go to a better school UCD and challenge yourself. At least you wont be so lonesome and you may be more comfortable living there</p>
