UCD vs UCSD for biochem (and other biological sciences)

Both universities claim to have the top biology (biosciences) program but which one really “the better” for undergraduate?

Another question on a different topic: How likely will the estimated financial aid (the one shown on the myaid page) drop once I accept the aid and SIR?

They’re pretty much identical for biology; go wherever you’ll be happiest. And my financial aid didn’t change at all. I don’t know what others’ experiences have been.

JeSuis, could you touch upon the research opportunities and biotech industry connections at Davis? and if possible, could you compare that with San Diego?

from what i heard, UCSD is supposed to be the best UC for biological sciences followed closely by UCD. but again as jesuis said, it depends on where you’ll be happy and most comfortable with

@notruf: I’m not a biology major, so I don’t know too much about it. I do know that many of my friends who are bio majors have gotten involved in research on campus or are volunteering at the UC Davis Medical Center.

They’re both pretty much equal, so you might just wanna visit both campuses.
