Biomechatronics at MIT?

So I'm currently a first year student at McMaster University and I'm looking to go into the Electrical & Biomedical Engineering program here. Recently I came across the fact that MIT has a biomechatronics research lab and I was really really REALLY excited.

I'm hoping to do research in the future about biomechatronics and I think this new area is absolutely OWNAGE, for lack of a better word :) I was just wondering what graduate programs at MIT would be able to give me an opportunity to pursue this direction? And would you consider MIT as a good grad school for this? I ask because I don't really see any other university with so many rich resources and research opportunities in this field.

Any help would be lovely! Thank you :)

Does anyone have any help they can offer for this question?

While I haven’t worked in this field, I think the obvious answer is “of course.”

There are probably many different programs which would approach biomechatronics from different angles, and some labs may have people from different programs. The most obvious programs which would relate to biomechatronics would be EECS, mechanical engineering, and material science. Which one would be better for you depends on your background.

Maybe you could contact someone at MIT who works on things like this and they might have better info.
